The committee is investigating whether there was inappropriate communications between the Trump transition team and the russians. Nunes was on the Trump transition team. This recusal should have a no brainer from the start, instead of waiting for Nunes to show how he was working for the WH instead of providing oversight to it.

CPT (Join to see) Politics in the U.S. is like a roller coaster. The times of (relative?) tranquility are followed by times of gut wrenching upheaval. This has been a shitshow. It will continue to be a shitshow. The shit is getting deeper and deeper. This is just going to keep getting worse. First it was Hillary rigging the election. Then it was illegal voters. Then it was Obama wire tapping the transition team, all the while the Russia connection was brewing in the background. The bullshit needs to stop, and the very real problems facing our nation need to be moved (back?) to being a priority.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - First thing is we as a people need to actually be informed. Not follow like sheep, but actually take an interest in what is going on. That means working for our citizenship. At the very least discerning where one actually fits politically. Not R or D, but actual values. From the super conservative to the ultra liberal, and everywhere between on the spectrum, have a position. Second we need to vett our candidates so that we vote for the candidate which best suits our beliefs. Third we need to do away with primaries and other pre-election elections, if a candidate meets the requirements, put them on the ballot. Let them earn the vote of the people. Along the same lines, divide electoral votes based on a percentage of the vote received rounded to the nearest tenth. That way state electoral votes reflect the voters in the state. Next redraw all the voting districts into a logical geographical district as opposed to gerrymandered districts that help a particular political leaning. Lastly, and this is the hardest of them all, we need to stop falling for the tricks that are being used to keep our attention off of the very real problems we have. Instead of we the people fighting among ourselves over whose beliefs are more valid, accept that we don't all have to believe the same thing, and start holding our elected officials accountable to us as they should be. That would be a start.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - I agree with you fully especial abut the gerrymandering, but I do not think that the folks in charge now will complain about it until someone else is in power.

Those are great ideas though and i think far closer to the founders intent that the mess we have now

Next we have to figure out how to make those things happen.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - That is the really hard challenge. People are resistant to drastic changes. It is easier to deal with what we have than it is to take a stand. As I say it has to start with we the people being informed, forming opinions, acknowledging the differing opinions of others, and starting a debate.

Now we can get back to having some open hearings and getting some answers. Members in both parties are about to get butt hurt.

PO1 John Crafton - Uh huh. Sure. We were all ready to hear what Sally Yates and others were ready to say but then Nunes cancelled hearings or made them closed doors and not under oath. Getting his answers directly from the WH, how good of him. Not including other members of the committee, how good of him. Even drawing the ire of Republicans on the Senate Intelligence Committee, how good of him.
