I thought he recused himself? Besides, Republicans in the Senate aren't biting on getting rid of the special counsel.

No, he was temporarily removed for an ethics violation but was cleared and is back in his seat. He may have been "cleared" but going to a POI in an investigation and giving that person information about that investigation is still unethical. He may not be head of the Russian investigation anymore for his committee, but he is still the chair of it.

With the news of Paul Ryan not running for re-election, it's time for Ryan to tell Nunes to shut the HELL UP!

Trump isn't stupid. Everyone to include his own party has told him not to fire Mueller, so all the boasting about what he could do, is overshadowed by what he would not do. Now same goes for Sessions. If he was going to fire Sessions, he should've thought about that a long time ago, but he didn't being his own party and some Dems came out against it. To get to Mueller, he has to take the long way around. Nunes is that long way around to get the desired effect. I as a simple citizen would advise Trump against doing any of this. Not a lawyer, but if you have nothing to hide, you did nothing wrong, and your affairs are in order, it might sting a little, but let the investigation ride out. You've been told you're being looked at, but not a suspect...yet. Remember two weeks ago, you were bragging about how you wanted to testify in front of Mueller. Any action to hinder his investigation directly or indirectly would only come back to bite twice as hard (Nixon anyone?).
Nunes was a nobody. A "coffevve" boy before Trump. Trump is literally his bread and butter into relevance. It'll be a shame to see him fall prey to his own arrogance and ignorance. Trump won't be out of a job anytime soon, but you might (unless hired into his administration to a position that doesn't require Senate approval). Also the Blue Wave is coming. Time is not on his side and he knows it. He'll be relegated to minority positions....those same positions he stomped on over and over again, with no big named or more powerful Republicans to save his hide.
Ryan is going to give the gavel back to Pelosi (not a good thing), McConnell will give the chicken neck to Schumer (another bad idea), and you will officially be toast.
