The analysis is problematic and many Americans make this mistake. Hitler rose to power under a Parliamentary system where the German Chancellor is appointed by the ruling party coalition in power. Hitler was never elected......period. The Nazi Party was elected to seats in parliament but never held a majority but they created a plurality among the elected parties in the Riechstag in which none of the other parties could claim a majority without an alliance or coalition was formed with another. The Liberals had a chance to stop the Nazi's by forming an alliance with the Communists but they feared the Nazi's would take advantage of that and forever lump them in with the Communists in future political campaigns. Hindenburg formed a coalition with the Nazi's and a man named Franz Von Papen talked Hindenburg to convince his party to appoint Hitler as Chancellor because Von Papen made the argument to Hindenburg once appointed to Chancellor, Von Papen and Hindenburg could control Hitler and still rule the Chancellorship from behind the scenes pulling Hitlers strings like a puppet. Unfortunately, Von Papen never counted on Hindenburg's sudden death, nor did Von Papen count on the Nazi's taking advantage of the death so quickly, passing the enabling act, burning the Riechstag to the ground and then embarking on the night of the long knives to murder his remaining opponents. We have too many checks and balances and we could and would never see a Hitler take control in the United States, it is pure fantasy to think otherwise and if Obama not recognizing that fact after getting a degree in Constitutional Law or whatever............raises questions about how much he learned in college and people wanting to see his college transcripts.

Barack Obama apparently remains committed to big, all-powerful central government -- the kind which oppresses the People. He is a reminder of the warning, "A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take everything you have." Kinda' like Nazi Germany.

SPC John Parmenter - I think he wants a government that is bigger than the US Government. I think he'd be happy to see us cede our sovereignty to the UN or the EU, or even establish some other larger governmental organization that we could bow down to.

1) letting us keep our medical plans, 2)Giving us no hope and plenty of crappy change,3) Setting race relations back decades, 4) inspiring foreign nations to test us and attack our troops, 5) Taking no personal responsibility for anything I could go on and on but what would be the point?
