I think you have to agree (not you, but well…..some other you) that President Obama made a decision that US ground troops were not the best solution to what is going on over there. But – he is the president and he made a decision to use drone strikes in large numbers to try and achieve our goals. He did that knowing that once in a while they would hit wedding parties, and there would be pictures of dead and maimed children.
People want to rail against the president in ways that don’t match reality or reflect back very well on them, but he has absolutely taken actions to protect us here and to achieve our goals over there. Has it worked? Maybe not. But it is a difficult and perhaps intractable problem.
And not one created by him.

This is one of the areas in which I support Obama. It is not without risk both long term and short term but it is better than doing nothing which appears to be the other prong of his two pronged strategy.
Short term we will have some collateral damage and longer term perhaps some animosity toward the U.S. but we need to kill lots of these folks as quickly as we can.
