As Hurricane Florence slams North Carolina, the riverfront city of New Bern is already feeling the impacts. Emergency crews are attempting to respond to more than a hundred calls for rescues.

Being a retired NC Guardsman I miss being on the leading edge of the rescue efforts. No, I do not like natural disasters, I miss assisting during these critical moments. I will do what I can after the storm passes.
