Politicians in Japan's southernmost prefecture want a U.S. general and other troops charged with attempted murder over a June 21 incident in which a bullet allegedly strayed out of a Marine Corps firing range and struck a farm shed.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel though tragic, I do not believe this is attempted MURDER. Not in the least...it was purely and "ACCIDENT." These Marines were not out to get this guy....makes me think what this guy is up to to think it was "attempted murder?"
I am half Okinawan/Japanese. I was born on Okinawa in Camp KUE Army hospital, now a marine base and lived on Kadena AFB...which at the time did not have a hospital. Though I am usually bias to everything Japanese, I have to put my foot down and call this how I see it. BOLOGNA! The Okinawan Police are out of their cotton pickin minds....in MY HUMBLE OPINION.

Sgt Kelli Mays It is for the most Part Political Capital for Okinawan Politicians to use that they are Anti-American Base and they can use this along with Many other Real and or Suspected/Perceived Wrongs to Push for Removal of the Marine Base. Also possibly to be used to Up the Compensation that more than Likely be Paid to the Offended Party by the Japanese Gov't or US Gov't.

That is sure stretching things, NO intent in the first place, no one was targeted and shot at. Once is a while a stray round will hit something in the area. There are places even stateside where that has happened. Is this a safety concern ? , well that may be valid but attempted murder ? give Me a break !

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel My question is, Which was build first, the shed or the range? How many times have we seen people build next to a military base and then complain about the noise etc from the base.
