Thanks CW5 Jack Cardwell for sharing the link to the national geographic web link about the rare Yellow Cardinal.
In 2014 the population estimate for the Northern Cardinal was 120,000,000, if only 1 out of 1 million cardinals would be yellow then approximately 120 should exist.
Since the National Geographic folks seem to insist that yellow cardinals are evidence of illness as opposed to a plumage variation, and the bird in the video seemed to be healthy, I wonder if the yellow cardinal can reproduce or it is sterile.
