A friend of mine sent this to me this morning....Very interesting and insightful take on America's love affair with the automobile. Funny how an Italian Marxist writing from prison could see the
great divide cause by cars back in the 1930's. Still the writer stresses
correlation and not causation.
The point is we have become dependent on our cars regardless of our political views and leanings. The cars and the fuel they consume have become the life blood of our country. And like any addict we are most likely in denial.
I also find it funny that it took a Canadian to tell us this. But the real take away quote is at the end; "The key is not individuals' car use, but the way we sort into communities based on our reliance on cars."
