Robert Gates hesitated, considering the once out-of-this-world possibility that has become more and more plausible lately.

SSgt (Join to see), Why Larry? I can't imagine him doing some of the things he days he is going to do. His statement about standing in the middle of Times Square and shooting someone, people would still love him and vote for him. Don't you think that's a childish and dumb statement for someone running for POTUS? He needs to take his candidacy more seriously. I like the man, just not his antics.

Can you imagine President Hillary Clinton? How about President Bernie Sanders? Or, God forbid, President Jeb Bush? Another Bush? That Bush? As much as I'm loathe to back Trump, I'll hold my nose and vote for him rather than any of the Democratic choices. And a final word regarding Gates judgment: Our best bet is a ramped up version of Obama's strategy, American advisers training indigenous people to fight ISIS? Where have I heard that before? Oh, yes, Vietnam...

I look at it this way - Hillary and Sanders can be constrained by Congress in their worst areas. Trump? Congress has no power, at least immediately, in his areas of major failings.
