That is name for the past SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. It has been quite some time since I read up on Operation Cedar Falls. Search and destroy missions went part and parcel with the Vietnam war. Body counts virtually every night.

I recall being near Dau Tieng for Attleboro, before and Prek Klock during Junction City afterward but I think I spent most of Cedar Falls in Hospital

Cedar Falls was later than 1965. It began with the 196th Inf Bde which became Operation. I was at Dau Tieng supporting 1st Inf Div, in the Rubber Plantation. I remember we had our Thanksgiving meal right by the airfield so we got an extra ration of sand. The fighting traveled west toward Soui Da becoming Operation Cedar Falls. I believe the 173rd Abn jumped into it. The new 3rd Bde 4th Infantry Div and the 25th Infantry Division were strug out from Dau Tieng to Tay Ninh. Junction City then went north of Nui Ba Dinh with everybody, including the 11th ACR all over War Zone C. This covered about a six month period between Oct of 1966 and March of 67
