And DEC '95 I was on-board the USS LaSalle, 6th Fleet Flagship. We went to sea that Christmas to be ready to be the lily pad for forces or for the NATO HQ if they needed to evac. Almost ALL the Navy boys were whining about that. (I was the Army guy on staff - N54). I told them to quit whining because the SETAF Airborne boys were on the ground in Bosnia. Heck, we pulled into port in Italy for Christmas an New Year (two different places).
In '94 I got some wonderful training opportunities with the boys in the 16th SOW(that was all that was on the AC-130 H birds) in Brindisi. Later the Juliet models ( we called them the Air Show birds, lol,) came out and we got to see the latest Spectre capabilities.
Interesting thing was the CAOC was in Vicenza, Italy instead of in Aviano.
