Listening to GOP Representative Paulsen on POTUS Politics this morning talking tax plan. When asked why the cuts to the corporate tax rate to 20% is permanent while many cuts to different individual tax rates are temporary for 5 years; his response: the temporary measures are bipartisan measures that he sees no problem with Congress reinstating those cuts every 5 years.
WHOA! Talk about admitting what GOP priorities are...tax breaks for big businesses and select categories of wealth. So sad.

So what do you consider big business?
My small business might make a boatload of money this year.
I am not counting on any major tax cuts.
However, those rich corporations all you folks botch about make the things that you buy.
The things you buy are made by people like yourselves.
Those "rich" corporations are paying their wages.
Since I am looking to do very well this year I have a choice.
Pay an awful lot of taxes. (It's a choice).
Pay less taxes and update my equipment. Translation: Spend $160,000 on a new trailer. Said trailer being made by one of those horrible greedy rich corporations that coincidentally employs an awful lot of people. Some of whom are just as stupid as the people who post crap like this.
It takes money to make money. Do I agree with how all corporations make their profits?
No. There are many ridiculous practices out there. HOWEVER, they do not affect YOU.
They do affect me... as a small business owner. Guess what? I can always quit. Then I'll have lots of time to bitch about greedy corporations.
Like you.

Multi-miliion and multi-billion dollar industries that conduct business on a nationwide or international scale. The kind that pays their CEOs and executives at least $500K and priorities are towards their shareholders at the expense of their employees. It doesn't matter what political philosophy the business, CEOs, or majority stock holder has, they share a similar economic philosophy.
Could they have given priority of tax benefits to the smaller and mid-range businesses and told the much larger businesses to suck it? Of course, after all, businesses are people accordant to the Supreme Court so you don't have to treat them all equally.
Now is paying taxes a choice when the alternative can lead to legal consequences? Sure buying goods is a choice as opposed to stealing it or not buying it at all.
No, paying taxes is my duty as a citizen with the understanding the money is supposed to benefit the welfare of the community via public services and systems.
As for it takes money to make money; that's an old 20th century idiom. Nowadays, it takes technology and outsourced labor to make money. Small businesses deserve tax breaks in order to compete with the larger markets that is lobbying legislation to squeeze them out. You don't have to be a consumer, unemployed, or a low income worker to bitch about greedy corporations. Be honest, as a small business owner, you already do. Just like me, a military retiree on his second career in the defense industry.
