A problem is very few people or organizations say no to Trump. He thinks he has total authority and is willing to push the limits of rules, regulations, and laws. If he demands on the unconstitutional use of Active Duty forces, then I expect the senior generals to say they won't support an illegal order. We should not follow the orders of a president who defies the constitution. I like to think the military is the bastion for the nation's values.

Cpl Benjamin Long - You go ahead and believe what you may. I very much doubt Trump wants to take a 4 star general to court for not abiding to an unconstitutional and illegal order. Generals who do not perform are relieved, not taken to court.

MAJ Ken Landgren - again you rant about constitutionality... but outside vigilante justice the court decides what constitutionality is, not the lynch mob

I am going to cut u off. There is no point discussing ANYTHING with you. You don't understand the pivotal point of the constitution nor do you understand that no American generals have been taken to court by the POTUS. Save your energy. Cpl Benjamin Long

MAJ Ken Landgren - Supreme court interprets constitutionality... so their opinion on what an illegal order is overrides anything you have to say by actual authority... just because it is unprecedented doesn't mean it can't be done, generals don't get immunity anywhere

The US Military has been called to duty withing the United States - many times.
The Democrats also bemoaned President Kennedy using the military to enforce
integration of schools in Alabama.
The Democrats bewailed President Truman's Executive Order 9981 directing the
US Military's desegregation.
A Chicago paper published an article about 12 times the different states had their
National Guards 'federalized'.
I don't think the author at Politico.com knows where the rails are going.

And don't forget that Dwight Eisenhower deployed troopers from both the 82d and 101st Abn. Divs. in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Jack Kennedy sent active soldiers to Alabama to assist desegregation efforts in both states AGAINST the wishes of their governors.

Wow General Milley and Trump got into a shouting match. Trump demanded 10,000 AD troops and General Milley said it's the law enforcements action. Trump thinks he can do anything even if it's against the constitution. Good for General Milley for standing his ground against an out of control president.

Trump has his base supporters but the more Trump engages important national issues in the manner he is, he will suffer the consequences. I predict he will become more bizzare when he knows he is in deep trouble. I also think the GOP will suffer for being complicit with Trump. All that lying and underhanded actions by Trump and his administration is catching up. The impeachment, pandemic, and protests have been train wrecks for Trump and his goons. Trump and the GOP have no virtuosity.

I will post a link in regards to Milley and Trump. This is not the only site refer to the altercation.
