I suspect that someone must've shared this link already but I haven't yet seen it and don't want to let it pass without commenting. As with most opinions that appear in the NY Times, I take offense. (Normally, I'm not offended by much, but love using the term when dealing with the purveyors of propaganda that seem to be offended by all things that most rational persons ignore). Now, before you get offended, let me assure you that I am not going to defend racism. I am not going to defend the use of names of Confederate generals as designations for U.S. military installations. I take offense at the inference that those who serve/served celebrate white supremacy because some yodel named a military post after some Confederate General. This all happened decades before any of us were born and most couldn't even identify a Confederate general if someone dropped their tombstone on our feet. But that's modern "journalism", dealing in opinions and hyperbole rather than news
