The winds (Santa Ana winds) are very wicked, indeed. In the 70’s, totally squared away when reporting for duty and looking like crap at the end of the shift. My prayers go out to my brother firefighters, thoughts don’t do a damned thing.

GySgt Gary Cordeiro Navy Taught Me to be a Shipboard Firefighter in Boot Camp. Unfortunately the First and Only Time I was a Real Firefighter was as a Forest Fire Fighter. Definitely a Different Unique Skill Set.

Amen to that, brother. I currently enforce code regulations on oil product transfer on international and domestic cargoes. I am amazed at the lack of training, or foresight of worst case scenarios. Maybe you can help them out?

There are actually two fires burning. The Silverado fire in the Santa Ana mountains and the Blue Ridge fire in the Chino Hills State Park which but up to one another. This is the same area that had a considerable burn in 2008 whern there were actually three fires burning. It was known as the freeway complex and that's what they fear now. 7800 Acres of already burned in the Silverado fire and 1,100 Acres have burned in the Chino Hills State Park fire. I run a service where I stream Public Safety Communications over the internet and I can tell you that this is quite the incident once again. The winds are raging at 40 mph plus gusting to 60 plus.
