1LT Susan Bailey -Truly appreciate the share and congratulations on your progress. On a quick side note, how about some sound advice for quitting smoking, as I am choosing to seek advice from a Healthcare professional. Thank you in advance.

*High Five!* on your decision to quit SSG! Such a great choice. Due to my Mom's chimney routine I have never been a smoker myself. Such a hard thing to quit. But, I can suggest a couple of things.
1. See if one of your local hospitals has a smoking cessation program. Often these are staffed by specialists who have training on helping you quit. They can suggest a myriad of ways to help you get off the nicotine.
2. Treat it like you would if you were an alcoholic. Once you've weaned yourself off, DO NOT EVER allow yourself an excuse as to why even one cigarette is okay. Because that will be all she wrote on your quitting. Nicotine is supposedly even more addicting than heroin.
3. Plan your escape. I've been told by several people that they struggle because they don't have something to replace that activity. Find something to do with your hands, something to replace that oral fixation. Instead of a smoke break, maybe take a walk around the block. The idea is, you will likely be finding that you need something to do to replace that activity, so plan for it.
Lastly, do not even think about those vapor cigs. Those are almost worse than the other, and, worse they are unregulated. People have been developing something called "popcorn lung". Google it.
I wish you the best of luck, and have great respect for your decision!
