With deployment over, Truman carrier strike group being kept at sea due to COVID-19

Ran into this when we were all stop lossed in Korea during the Gulf War, some folks ended up with 18 month tours. Saw it again when the striker unit was extended in OIF 05-07 rotation at the last minute. It quickly became a leadership challenge to keep folks motivated as in both cases they were looking forward to the end of their tours.

Can't imagine the challenge with being confined to a boat. At least in Korea we had missions and could roam around. The Striker guys became trigger happy and I didn't care to have the them operating near our guys.

Better to be get ship prepared and personnel medically checked out before going dock side and quarantined on ship. That would really be so close yet do far away from home and family...
