Page County woman sentenced in mortgage fraud case

I've gotten several emails about women involved in Stolen Valor and extortion. This one is a real idiot, thinking she wouldn't get caught for screwing the VA. It does take all kinds, and there are all kinds out there .

On Friday, 34-year-old Mandy Lea Whipple of Page County was sentenced to 18 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for mortgage fraud. Whipple entered a guilty plea to the charge in June. Authorities say Whipple used the name and identity of a military veteran who employed her to obtain a Veteran's Administration loan to purchase a home in Fremont County. While investigating delinquent payments on the residence, authorities discovered the discrepancy in the paperwork.
