So whoever is in charge (at any specific moment in time) is responsible for violence in their respective cities? When these same cities elect Republican Mayors.......does the violence stop? What about funding and support from the state......does that play a role? Many of these cities with Democratic Mayors are in states with Republican Governors. Do you really think the thug on the street cares, or responds to, whoever the Mayor is?

All those cities have, for the most part, had long term, consistent management by Democrats.

When you part is more interested in votes and keeping folks on the nipple then steadily losing some each day isn't a big price. As long as you keep the free stuff coming you restock what you lose. Detroit has been under Democratic control since the 60's kind of hard to find policies from before that to explain the current PHUCKTARD kingdoms. The Republicans don't get a pass either, after all they are the same under a different label.

Nothing says "unhinged political post that ignores reality to peddle a soundbite that confirms a personally held belief" like caps lock. I suppose the fact that cities are largely Democratic controlled *and* cities tend to have a higher concentration of violent crime could be seen by people ignorant of basic logic but... but correlation isn't causation.

I'm sorry.

CORRELATION IS NOT CAUSATION. Something about sanctuary cities.

MSG Thomas Kuhar - I copied the info I cited and was too lazy to retype. This soundbite came from MSN a traditionally left-leaning website. Not sure how these facts ignore reality and confirm some personally held belief. 24/7 Wall St. reviewed FBI/UCI data and reported findings. Like it or not the majority of these cites are run by Democrats. People can draw their own conclusions. Isn't the person at the top ultimately responsible and accountable? I would hope that instead of defending violent crime, leaders and voters in these cities would work to develop programs aimed at trying to improve living conditions and public safety of their residents. Politicians and special interest groups ostracizing police in the name of social justice or so-called sanctuary cities (both code words for votes) will continue to make matters worse. These folks are our fellow citizens and deserve better regardless of who is in charge. Don't you agree?

i understand people can draw their own conclusions; I'm watching you draw illogical ones as I read your posts. The reason cities are violent and the reasons cities tend to be Democrat are not the same. Correlation versus causation. Seriously. Look into it. But you won't. You like caps locked passages and think saunctaury city is code for votes.

It's been awhile but I did take statistics in college. I agree that one cannot simply assume current Democratic administrations are to blame for violence; however, several of these cities have been democratic strongholds for decades. The last Republican mayor of Chicago left office in 1933. That's eighty-four years of Democratic control. At what point do you own it? Is it illogical to blame Democrats? Who the hell are gonna blame--aliens? According to you the reason cities are violent and the reasons cities tend to be Democrat are not the same. So you tell me, why do all of these Democratic cities have such high rates of violence? You're quick to dismiss my "ignorant logic" but provide only ambiguity.

Happy Turkey Day.

Why should I own anything here? I'm not a Democrat, and I don't live in a city run by Democrats. For Chicago's ills, I'd blame Chicago Democrats and their rampant corruption. It's not like corruption is just a big city thing or a Democrat thing, so it doesn't really met your overarching point. You, instead of being specific, are attempting to overgeneralize to smear an entire political party. It's either lazy or stupid; you decide. The fact remains, the reasons cities tend to be run by Democrats *and* have more violence are not the same. But whatever. While you cite some random undergrad' blog post as some sort of evidence, I'll use actual journalists who talked to actual researchers (often misinterpreted by, again either lazy or stupid Republicans) pointing out, in a few more words, correlation isn't causation. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/politics/FactCheck_Are_most_violent_criminals_Democrats.html
