In the article it stated that the "rec" league had 200 girls participating. Great! The problem is that would cover two high school football programs, maybe 3. Idealy, each school would need 40 girls for a freshmen team, 40 for a JV squad, and 60 for the varsity team. If that rec league gets to 1,000 players (at a middle school age group, alone) then we can have a legitimate discussion. (that would equal 100 girls on 10 high school teams at the Frosh/JV level) I guess it could be sooner if they played "8-man" football like they do in a lot of rural areas. Equal doesn't always mean same. Hell, there are two boys, in our county, that are really good gymnasts...maybe they should sue because gymnastics is not offered at our high schools.
