I wonder did they also call on their pension funds to sell off interests in Hollywood entertainment companies that make violent action movies? How about X-Box and PlayStation game makers who make video games that promote killing people as well as "things"? Then there's companies that manufacture alcoholic beverages; they produce a product that can, when misused, lead to a multitude of personal and social problems Of course there are other entertainment companies that promote unsavory behaviors, victimize people, and dare I say facilitate sinful behavior. These too should be eliminated from retirement funds. And of course car manufactures and their suppliers should be dumped because of the number of people killed in auto accidents each year, not to mention the number of people conceived in the backseats of automobiles. There are mutual funds and fund managers that only deal in "sin-free" investments. Churches, for example, use these funds. If the pension funds want to live up to the ideals they are espousing here, then they need to invest in these types of funds.

SPC David Willis - While I don't disagree with you, saying "You shouldn't need to worry about being shot by a classmate when you go to school." sounds nice but unfortunately isn't written anywhere. I should be able to walk downtown at night without getting mugged but common sense tells me not to. Like it or not, the world we're living in is changing. There was a time when people didn't feel the need to lock their houses at night. Now we're worried about our kids getting murdered at school. The times they are a'changing.

MAJ (Join to see) No I completely agree. I just don't like to see school shootings equated with car accidents. Shootings aren't accidents they happen on purpose it's just never made sense to me. Like are we saying we have to eradicate all deaths before we focus on kids at school? I think prioritizing should be common sense.

SPC David Willis - That makes sense. Car accidents are just that, accidents. Accidents, even if a result of negligence, are not evil. Mass shootings are evil. All of that said, I think selling stock in firearm manufactures is a pitiful attempt at correcting this issue. Doing so seems to indicate that they are somehow responsible.

SPC David Willis - Major S&W, minor Ruger. I like the dividend policy at Ruger, and sell covered calls on S&W for current cash flow.

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. Forget the fact that the guns are black and "look mean". The only thing the AR-15 has that anyone needs to discuss is magazine capacity (will making shooters reload sooner help?). Outside of that, when compared to a standard hunting rifle, you'd be better off getting shot by a FMJ 5.56 round from an AR-15 than a 30-06 or .300 Mag Core-Lokt round any day of the week. So be careful before forcing murderers to change weapons.

Don't forget the red dot sight that adds 5 accuracy points and the fore grip that adds 10 recoil points.
