MAJ I don't know if the F-35 is any good or not however, I do know the A-10 a beast. No it is not the fastest but ask any of our boys who's lives have been saved because it was there. The A 10 is not only slow and as some people say, ugly , it is very comfortable on the battlefield. A great weapon system and its ability range is so much different than a fast mover. Its a beast!

The Pentagon and the Air Force are crazy if they think that the A10 can be replaced. The F-35 can be shot down by a AK-47 bulet and a can't hang around station for 2 hours waiting for a mission! it's 25 millimeter gun has one-fourth the capacity of a 30 millimeter warthog. I am glad force people like congresswoman and former A-10 Squadron Commander Sally and Senator John McCain who shaken sense into the Pentagon brass into keeping the warthog.. I spoke to a kc-135 crew member who said to me last week that those kc-135 are going to be around for the next 30 years and we already know the B-52's are going to be there too so why can't we spend the money and rebuild the warthogs? The warhawks are much more practical and they can take the punishment. They're not as sophisticated as the junk Strike Fighter and they can't get shot down by a 7.62 millimeter 12.7 millimeter or even a 23 millimeter round while all three can take down an F-35 junk Strike Fighter!

The goal is to provide CAS for our people on the ground, which if conducted properly provides significant leverage and more importantly saves lives. It pisses me off that the Air Force appears to be more concerned about contracts and exclusive air platforms than protecting our soldiers. Modernize the A-10, or give them to the Army. This is not rocket science. The AF has been dicking around with this for too long. Lives are on the line.

You are so right. I know II Air Force pilots in my Army reserve unit both them can fly both commercial Jets and any fixed-wing or helicopters in the Army inventory may be glad to fly the A-10 or transfer Jose 10 Pilots over to the Army. The Eisenhower military industrial complex combined with the junk I say again junk Strike Fighter is a square peg but then again we're dealing with some people who think of the F-35 is the jack-of-all-trades final solution when it's actually a very problematic overweight underpowered piece of junk.
