Is the VA manning model so poor as to not be capable of handling a handful of people during business hours? It seems logical that some Veterans would be older, so why not design the waiting areas to be capable of handling older patients?
Sad to see events like this continue to occur without a path to resolve.
It erodes any level of trust in the VA as an institution when I know they have 95% of positive daily interactions.

With the VA it's always the same response "we are so sorry this happened", or "there is an investigation into the matter pending". Really? Do they have a stock response they have ready for every time they screw up? I went to see a nurse practitioner at Ohio State and she looked at the drugs the VA was giving me and about freaked. Several of them have serious interactions to one another and I was wondering why I couldn't sleep or just plain didn't feel good. The last incident that made me go and get health insurance through Uber was the blatant hostility from one of the doctors in the "urgent care clinic". I have never seen a doctor who visibly disliked his patients. Who lets an elderly man lay on the floor and then yells at him for doing so? Like the saying goes "The VA will give you another chance to die for your country". Honestly since I've been going to OSU I've felt so much better the pain is minimal now and the medical staff follow the patient care guidelines that the VA doesn't. Any health concerns I've had that have been left untreated have been addressed and not necessarily with surgery which seems to be the knee jerk response the VA has to everything. I think the only answer to the VA is to give everyone Tricare and if needed make veterans pay a cost that they can afford according to their income.
