Nice idea! A friend of mine has ridden the Paris-Brest-Paris randonuering 1200K twice. He said the French people in both the countryside and towns leave their water bottles out all night for riders to refill as needed. Great support.

That's a great idea. Our local fire department always has a jug of ice water and cups out for runners/cyclists. It really helps when planning long runs/rides.
