Three men are in custody, charged in three separate cases of domestic extremism last week.
Two were deadly shootings — one at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pa., the other at a grocery store in Louisville, Ky. — and the third involved explosives sent through the mail from Florida.
The suspects fit a pattern well-established in recent years: troubled, American-born men who appeared to be acting alone and driven by hate.
The 2001 attacks by al-Qaida led to a national-security focus on Islamist terrorism originating abroad, but those attacks have always been the exception.
Over the past 17 years, deadly attacks in the U.S. by the far right have outnumbered those by radicalized Muslims 70 to 23, a ratio of 3-to-1. The figures come from the U.S. government and private groups that track terrorism.

God be with the grieved and fallen. These shootings are a reflection of the state of aggression and hate of a twisted few, and somehow they must stop. Schools, churches, workplaces and who knows what's next. Daycare centers maybe.

How do you explain the non-functioning explosive devices with silly clocks as timers and PVC plastic pipe as the containment device for the explosive? Seems like it was a rather lame bomb making class and they got out early and never finished it or it was never intended to function. Who do we blame then? There is enough blame to go around but judging by the riots, protests and taunting going on in liberal political rallies and the appointment hearings of Judge Kavanaugh from the left, they would be my primary suspect as to who might have put these men up to it. God Bless all the killed and injured and may some kind of calm fall quietly on everyone so this behavior stops.
