I had an incident in 1973 Turkey similar, but not quite so dramatic. Was deploying to Sinop on the Black Sea. Plane flight from Ankara to Samsun on THY (Turkish Airlines). Approaching the seaside end of the runway overlooking the Black Sea bobbing up and down and left and right in blustery winds, the plane landed 60 feet short of the runway in mud; skidded through the mud to the apron of the runway and tore the nose gear off the plane. We ended up on the runway at right angles to the center line sliding sidewise for about 200 feet. All exited the emergency exits, but no fire. Took 4 hours to get our luggage off the plane for another 4 hour bus ride to Sinop.

With the gears and undercarriage damaged is this Jet going to be a parts plane or will it be certifiable to fly again?
