Police chief resigns amid 'mock tickets' scandal

Who comes with this nonsense? Politicians and police chiefs who are trying make money for their political subdivision. One night I was issued a traffic citation by a deputy sheriff for speeding. I posted security for my appearance in court. The interesting thing was that the deputy sheriff never put the license plate number on the traffic citation. The day of the hearing I was in one of my “bad attitude” days and I came in full uniform with a letter from my immediate supervisor about the vehicle I was operating. The magistrate called a recess and brought the deputy sheriff, his immediate supervisor and myself into his chamber and had a very spirited discussion with the deputy sheriff about how long his family had been interbreeding to create a moron like him. The case was dismissed my security deposit was returned and since I am a rated court interpreter I made an extra two hundred dollars that day.
Another deputy sheriff made a comment to me that the idiot would issue a traffic citation to his own mother’s funeral cortege.
There is a lot of nonsense that traffic cameras are used for the purpose of traffic safety while that is true in my county in most places they are for the purposes of making money!!!
