I personally do not think the killings are attributed more to anything other than people putting themselves in the position of being killed by the police other than their own criminal action and stupidity. More often than not, even though I do not have the stats to prove my hypothesis, these unfortunate circumstances happen in areas that are heavy with Democrat government.

PO1 H Gene Lawrence
Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - that is both good and bad. The good side is obvious. The bad side is that many times only the damaging portion is edited to show only the bad side of the event and puts the story out of context.

PO1 H Gene Lawrence - The people that edit these videos and facts need to be held libel for their actions. They're propaganda for the corruption that is running wild in America.

The first class in statistics I had the professor told us 2 things.... one, in any survey know what answer you want before you design the study, and two, be cognizant of the difference between causation and correlation.
I don't know if this study is true or not. I know the guy who did the research built an entire CV out of it. So there is probably some validity to it, but I have two questions...
1) Why doesn't he show a breakdown of cities/police budgets/police shootings and military gear. My guess is that larger cities have the budgets to buy this gear, and it would be interesting/telling if there was a correlation of the data.
2) There is no breakdown of the amount of killings that were down by the military gear. If I am not mistaken, most of the killings are done by service weapons (pistols). So, is his argument that having the military gear makes them more gung ho and kill people? I don't know, but I find it a very weak argument.
The vast majority of LEO's never pull their weapons, and I think trying to find some underlying root cause with the officers is wrong. If you want to find the root cause, it is people putting themselves into situations were reaction times are greatly reduced, and tensions are higher. Not one of these people that our country has been rioting over was without fault. Each one was a known person to LEO, and they either resisted arrest or fired upon LEO. In my book, you follow the law, and lawful orders and you don't have problems.
