REPORT: Terrence Cunningham, president of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, said at the group's annual conference that police have historically been a face of oppression, enforcing laws that ensured legalized discrimination and denial of basic rights. He was not more specific. Cunningham said today's officers are not to blame for past injustices. He did not speak in detail about modern policing, but said events over the past several years have undermined public trust...
Lt. Bob Kroll, head of the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis, thought Cunningham's statement went too far. In his city, two white officers fatally shot a black man last November. "Our profession is under attack right now and what we don't need is chiefs like him perpetuating that we are all bad guys in law enforcement," Kroll said. "I think it's an asinine statement. ... We've got officers dying on almost a daily basis now because of this environment, and statements like that don't help."

Most ppl don't understand what it means to walk down the street and a Caucasian officer approached you saying that you fit the description of someone and I. The same motion trying. To frisk you. Am not condoning any of the shootings that is being done to our officers and I hope it stop. I believe that this type of stuff (cop shooting) will continue to happen until someone is held accountable, there are more good cops than bad ones but until the good ones hold those bad one accountable the good will always suffer with the bad. " if you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything"

Some feel that due to PC pressures, social engineering, cultural purging and increased influence of violence-prone vocal minority splinter groups of all colors and shapes, that the apologizing penance shtick is getting way out of hand. People and groups are being pressured into apologizing for acts they had no part in and have no responsibility for in any way shape or form. Many people refuse to participate in this flagellation as a means of a conscious appeasing guilt trip.
