He is correct in all billiard shots are a result of stroke speed follow through level of cue and where you hit the cueball and then where it hits the rail, every one of these elements in a shot must be mastered to consistently hit the balls into the pockets or even make bank shots to object balls sitting in a pocket. Gimmicks like these are to help a novice or beginner to develop the basic fundamentals but no advanced player or tournament player would ever trust such tools or a video game made by math formulas. The truth is no two tables or felts or sets of cushions play exactly alike, even pocket widths vary slightly and players must develop routines to test those elements quickly before playing serious games or any kind of real stakes. The game of billiards is more that a stick hitting a ball into another. Anyone who wants to be very good must put the time on the table with practice and learn the physics of how spheres interact on other objects, such reverse spin occurs when two spheres connect but first they stop for an instant on contact and can slide sideways on impact! Most players do not even know such a simple concept in the game but masters count on the principle for most shots for next position! Applying any form of English spin changes the direction of spin and path of the cueball when struck and how it spins after contact. I could tell you of another 10 principles that come to play in each game if you had the space. But you see my point. It takes decades to real master one game of billiards and there hundreds and more created for enthusiast and masters to keep the skills developing and inventing new shots that others could not perform in the past! The game never stops growing as materials for tips and cues improve and balls and felt are altered. It a sport that can be played all your life and never really mastered! I love to play those who understand its highest principles and play with touch for fun! Professionals players are highly trained to win every time not explore the variety of other possible shots on a table that a player could try to make! That is a major difference in mastering the table and mastering certain shots, which is about 30 key shots for them! I like the thousands that could be executed for fun and just to show the wonderful skills of the games!
