Depending on how you look at this, it's either "very simple", or "very complicated". I admire simplicity, but dang it if I find it hard to be as "simple" as I'd like-guess it's a curse.
The Pope is saying something "good" that could definitely support something extremely "bad" in my opinion. Speaking as a Christian, I do see a great deal of universal compassion, brotherhood, and charity in scripture...but I also read a lot of cautions against the collective manipulation of mankind within the same.
What are these "global" values that the Pontiff appears to champion? Does it stop at granting refuge to the oppressed... or does it require the wholesale displacement of others? Does it stop at promoting peace... or does it demand that "peace" be guaranteed by totalitarianism? Does it promote "love one another"... or provide universal defense for every form of perversion, corruption, and immorality deemed "acceptable" by a humanist point of view, while labeling any who dissent as "bigots" worthy of punishment?
I honestly don't know what the Pope believes, but I'm reminded of another verse, "...no man can serve two masters..." It may be something to ponder.

Well, you know, Catholics are not Christians, at least according to a lot of evangelicals and other small denominations.
I’ve heard that most of my life.
Let the comments commence!

CPT Jack Durish My Dad, Catholic man that he was, was not a church going man. He said the Roman Catholic Church was the biggest real estate land developer there ever was. I was sort of astonished that he said that. But he was someone I’ve always looked up to and admired, even though I didn’t always agree with his political views. He’s been gone since 2009, and I still think about him constantly.
