Portland Police Mounted Patrol will be gone but not forgotten (photos)

Just found out the horseback riding cops in Portland, OR have officially shutdown. I used to work right next door to the stables before it was sold to a private company. It was an odd sight to see a cop on a horse in the city, not to mention the poop left behind in the streets. Over time it grew on me and I began to appreciate the tradition behind it. Like all things, money eventually runs out and budget cuts force new changes. A lot tradition is being lost to money issues, just like the Evergreen Aviation Museum which houses historic aircraft not found anywhere else. In 2013 the museum went bankrupt and in 2016 it was sold to Falls Event Center LLC.

Oh well eventually we'll all be replaced with robots and we'll live in a virtual world.
