If not bad enough the victim gets to spend the rest of her life dealing with the incident, her face is literally rubbed in the poopy by being made to interact with her rapist. Likewise the child is little or no better off having to look the father in his eye and live with what transpired and exactly how s/he ended up here. This attitude is somehow left over from the time and age when women were looked upon as the property of men and less than human in many cases. Still not unusual even in today's time. It will be a long time before such beliefs and feelings are finally reversed in the law by a more enlightened generation or two.

I realize that rape like molestation is under-reported nationwide SPC Britanny *Winnie* Balthaser. I realize that many raped people hate their attackers and that many girls/women hate the offspring of rape and are consumed with rage. That is very sad for the rape victim and sadder for the child who had nothing to do with the horrible crime.
I am not surprised by anything the legislature of Maryland or California does at this point. I moved out of Maryland in 1989 and was glad. Montgomery County had higher taxes and significant corruption. Term limits were finally passed in that county this November.
Raskin's reasoning that "The family law judge could make the decision that the father shouldn't have parental rights without waiting for a criminal conviction" is interesting on its face - guilty because of being charged. Since father is used it implies a child; which, indicates time has passed since the charged rape.
1. In the 1960's I was molested in a public and crowded swimming pool before I was 10 years old and threatened with death if I struggled or told anybody.
2. My oldest adopted son was serving in the 3/75 Rangers Battalion for several years and he married a women he met in a rough-sex chat room while deployed. She claimed he raped her within a few weeks of their marriage and was paid by the federal government for 3 years 2011-2014. The article 32 investigation and hearing concluded that the rape and two others of women who also were into rough sex was not rape but consensual sex as the women admitted under oath that it was [I had no heard the term before that Article 32 investigation]. The post commander did not accept the Article 32 results in part because their was a perception that the military was soft on sexual crimes. During the General Court Martial nothing could be entered into evidence or testimony that was negative about the women, nothing positive could be entered about my son, and his ranger buddies were assigned to court duties such as bailiff or deployed during the trial. My son was sentenced to 35 years at Leavenworth. Later we learned that his now ex-wife had done something similar with a Marine years earlier. She learned that if you report rape by a service member you can be rewarded by the federal government. My son was moved to a medium security federal prison in December of last year. He has adjusted well and is completing two Bachelor degrees that he stated after being incarcerated.
3. Rough sex and the popularity of the Shades of Gray book and movie seem to indicate there is a morbid fascination with sexual violence among millions of women and girls.
4. I know a few grown children of rape and more autistic young people who many would argue should have been terminated by induced abortion once their "birth defect" was discovered. These people and their mothers and in the rape cases the adopted fathers have great relationships with the child of rape. It takes the grace of God to take away the stigma of rape and ease the pain on rape.
