To all the whining Democrats. Nothing prevents you from paying more Federal Tax. In fact - given your desire for Social Justice and your self anointed altruism - YOU SHOULD BE GLAD TO PAY MORE. So I thank you for stepping up to fund your pet Social Justice Projects. Bravo - well done. In the interim - I will use my 2018 my tax cut, to purchase some consumer items for my wife and save the remainder for a future Holland America Cruise; secure in the knowledge that the true altruism of the Democratic Social Justice Warriors will more than make up for my impertinence on spending MORE OF MY MONEY ON WHAT I WANT.

LCDR (Join to see) - Hence the hypocrisy of Liberals. They are all for spending someone else's money to further their Social Justice Agenda. So as I said - since they all are self anointed altruists - they can pay as much as they want and I will applaud their benevolence. Meanwhile, will use MY TAX CUT TO SPEND MY MONEY THE WAY I WANT.

LTC Orlando Illi - There is no doubt they have lost their mind during this presidency. They still think HC should have had here chance in the seat. They ignore everything and only want to obstruct and push their agenda. Funny that there is so much push back in this forum also.

LCDR (Join to see) - Like I said - their hypocrisy is staggering. I find it amusing that the ones on this forum who are so anti-Trump are also the ones who love to spend other peoples money to further their Social Justice Agenda. So, once again if Liberals on this forum are are so caring and so altruistic - then let them voluntarily spend 75% of their income to achieve their Utopian view of Social Justice and be so kind as to leave the rest of us alone and we will all applaud their sense of civic duty.

Are any of you certified tax law experts? If not, and if you haven't read every letter of it yourself, we are simply parroting what we heard/read on our favorite news source.

In my somewhat uninformed opinion, if businesses have more money, they will expand more, innovate more, hire more, and increase shareholder value. If they make shareholders happy, certainly, the company executives will receive cash incentives, as will employees (in various ways).

As companies do all of the above, they spend more money and make more money and pay taxes along the way. Sure, the % of taxes paid is less, but the potential volume increase of buying/spending/etc. will lead to more money coming in.

Maybe I'm wrong and clueless. It's ok to tell me so.

Cpl Anthony Pearson Fact the economy loves Trump, lower regulation now tax cuts will put us back on the path to growth. Already companies are annoucing investment and higher pay for workers. The proof will be in the results. By the end of 2018 no one will be able to argue the virtues of this bill.

I have to agree with you and others in favor of this bill. Guess we will see. I only hope the results are fairly and honestly reported.

Know anyone drawing Social Security or on Medicare? When the GOP uses the ballooning deficit next year to start cutting back on those programs....this won't seem like such a good deal.

MCPO Roger Collins - Exactly......it was considered the third rail that neither party was willing to touch. Now you have the Speaker of the House saying that entitlement reform is on the agenda for next year. And they intend to use the deficit as cover for doing it, by all indications.

They will never touch the benefits of current recipients. Does the name Dan Rostenkowski ring a bell. I have always believed both, SS and Medicare should be means tested. Further, there should be more investigators to find cheats on SSDI.

MCPO Roger Collins - In the past, they would never touch benefits of current recipients......going forward, after hearing the remarks of the Speaker.......not so sure. I would hope you are right on that point. I have no problem with means testing, and additional investigators.

Entitlements will no doubt have to suffer some curtailing. I think we can start with all the able body people on SSI. Watch Judge Judy and you will see the parade of people that abuse that system. Also welfare reform will shave some of this balloon away.
