It would be hard for President Donald Trump to have a worse record than Lame-duck POTUS Barack Obama for diplomatic safety SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
We have sufficient military capability to quickly respond to any situation; POTUS Obama failed on his watch although I think HRC was more to blame for the failure to act at Benghazi.
1. Since Donald Trump is unlikely to support anything like Arab Spring in Muslim majority nations and taking arms fro one group of terrorists and giving them to questionable guerilla groups.
2. There is a prioritization of security and other upgrades at overseas posts including embassies. I expect that will be reviewed within the first 100 days of the Trump administration.
3. Congressional action will be needed to authorize and appropriate funding for additional security.

One would think a bureaucrat would wish to ensure the safety of fellow bureaucrats but with Congress, at least they have little qualms about spending the peoples' money.

Very interesting article. The !ast paragraph is the answer also. State needs to address shortfalls but give Ambassador authority to act on their own in a situation like Bengazi.

Securing the safety of overseas diplomatic personnel should be high on the list of State Dept. priorities. Losing an ambassador like the Benghazi debacle should never happen. Here is hoping that the new administration realizes the priority of keeping all diplomats safe.
