If someone comes here from Mexico, (legally or illegally), and they want to protest a candidate, or policy, why wave a Mexican flag? If Mexico was so great, why did they come here?

I am not trying to be sarcastic, or inflammatory. This just hasn't ever made any sense to me. If I move to Japan and decide I don't like something, I am not going to a protest rally waving an American flag.

As far as Russian influence in the elections goes; it is pretty clear they did try things intended to shape people's perceptions of the issues and candidates. Why not? We don't like it. Okay. I am sure they knew we wouldn't like it. But, they know we're not going to start WW III over it. We don't like a lot of things Russia does. They don't care.

If sheeple are so gullible and naive as to be influenced by something they see on Facebook then our electoral system is probably headed for the reef.

you stop that thinking for yourself thing, you need the media or facebook posts to tell you how to think and feel about stuff.

It's hard for me to say if the Mexican government is directly behind the immigration push to the United States, though it is clear Mexico colluded with the Germans in World War I in a kind of half azzed attempt to take a few Southern States if we lost the war with Germany. The War never tilted that badly against us so the Mexican-German concordat never was implemented. However, a Century later, Mexico clearly benefits economically from so many immigrants pouring into the United States in the form of remittances back to Mexico to remaining family members........which Mexico taxes as income. In another way it also serves as kind of a social pressure relief valve for Mexico when violence in a province or the Mexican economy tanks. Hence, we are never going to have a 100% committed partner on our Southern border with border enforcement. Simple fact of the matter is the Mexican government could care less and leaving things as they are benefits them more money wise than being directly involved in border enforcement. Last but not least, the reliability of most of Mexico's Police Force is open to question. Corruption from organized crime and smuggling rings is so rampant that Mexico recently voted at a Federal level to turn over more law enforcement tasks to the Mexican Marine Corps. As they have given up on reform it seems of the local police. Longer-term the trend is the whole country looks like it is headed for collapse at some point.
