That is government ran healthcare and what we have to look forward to if the "democrat socialists" ever take the reigns of power in our country.

Cpl (Join to see) This has nothing to do with the type of health care system. It is a terry schiavo type case that we had here in the US. The spouse believes the person is in a vegetative state and want to let them go and the parents think otherwise and want to keep them alive. The Schiavo case ended the exact same way.

Cases like this are why my wife and I have a full, durable health care proxy for each other.

It is the type of healthcare system. Government always rations healthcare when funds run dry. After the roll-out, they will implement rationing policies when they realize they can't treat all people all of the time. The idea that starving a person to death instead of long term care or a pill to ease their circumstance indicates a lack of will by the government bureaucrats to spend money. When a government begins telling us who lives and who dies, that's when eugenics and all of it's atrocities regain traction.

In case anyone is interested in the backstory, this is a right to die case involving a legal dispute between the souse and the parents. This is almost identical to the Terry Schiavo case and has nothing to do with the type of health case system.
