If North Korea expects economic help from China, they'd best be prepared to wait. China has its own problems with massive bond debt coming due this year and no possible means of paying it.

that is one reason making nice with Japan/SKorea etc is so attractive to NKorea. and that is the carrot we dangle in fat boy's face.
China's economy is propped up by financing and accounting tricks that would land a CPA in jail. how are they gonna prop up Kim when they are struggling to rectify their own problems?
Trump offers trade... maybe financial help (with strings attached). Japan would help because they would pounce on a new, relatively un-tapped market.
Skorea has their own incentives to help... re-unification of the Korea Peninsula... just like when the two Germanys re-unified. sure, it's gonna be ugly, but SKorea has a strong enough economy to handle it, with a little help from their friends.
