Questions swirl over Austin's limited experience

I find it interesting that critics saying a LTG who commanded and oversaw combat operations in USCENTCOM is in experienced to handle the growing threat of China. Yet a civilian with little or no military experience other than being well connected to the military defense industry should be considered more qualified. Yeah the logic makes my head hurt and explains so much about the dysfunction of our government and media.
