The Army is an incredible organization, but is often poor at identifying it's assumptions and adopting radical and required change. Future war is going to be highly lethal and involve many more civilian casualties than what we have become accustomed to in the past 50-60 years; the battlespace vast; and operations at an unpredictable, arrhythmic tempo. One thing our most likely adversaries cannot replicate easily that is our biggest advantage (among many things)? The American NCO Corps---we need to keep sharpening that weapon.
