Good article, thanks. I was a SPED teacher for 9 years working with emotionally disturbed teens at a residential treatment facility. I tried to keep them at least familiar with what their counterparts were learning in regular high school for math, social studies, and science, but I hammered reading. I figured if they could gain enough reading skills they could read a book to find out anything else they might need to know, later.
