Rebuilding America’s Military Project: The United States Army

This is a fairly comprehensive discussion that will take some time to read, but it's well worthwhile spending the time. Personally, I would like to see more emphasis on building the Army Reserve as the core for a traditional fighting force while the regular Army focuses on current missions. Also, I think that the militia (America's armed citizenry) be considered as an important factor in the nation's defense and that training and leadership teams be provided to organize militias in the event of a national defense emergency. This alone might help legitimize the need to maintain the Second Amendment for those too short-sighted to see it.
