I'm more concerned with China making nice with the Philippines. Big naval bases (Subic Bay, Manila, Cavite) extends their ability for force projection. Air Bases at Clark & Cubi Point also extends air capability.

Obama has all our carriers parked. Otherwise, I'd think we should join the party out there.

China has a Ukraine aircraft carrier out there too so it's tough knowing we don't have an aircraft carrier in the area because we have maintenance problems with one carrier is not out to however in that area.
