Remains of Pilot Shot down in WWII Coming Home for Burial

Until they all come home...

When I was in the VA work study program I got to work at the casualty assistance office and it was an awesome experience. One of the neat things we did was to put together shadow boxes for the families with the Soldiers awards and decorations. We put two together for WWII and Korean war repatriated Soldiers it was very interesting researching and verifying the awards and decorations and putting the ribbon racks and badges together.
The stories and witness statements that go along with these repatriations are amazing and the efforts the services put into bringing these folks home to their families is remarkable.
