Remaking Prince - When Doves Cry

Another interesting video. This is a pretty neat video and shows you how Prince used a programmable Limm LM-1 Drum Machine to build the background music to the song "When Doves Cry". It was rumored that Prince put his drummer out of business with this instrument which was popular with artists in the 1980's. Prince let his drummer stay on the payroll though and act as if he was playing the drums on stage for a lot of songs when actually the beat was from the drum machine. Prince played every single instrument in this song along with writing the song and singing it. Much of the song was a playback from a edited recording of Prince playing each instrument and splicing it together as you see happening in the video to an extent.
