Replacing US Marine’s CH-53K helos with CH-47F choppers is a poor idea

Good share Leatherneck, and I agree. I only flew on a 53 once during a night raid at Plt Sgt Course Camp Pen. They are a beast. We had to use one to deliver an AAV tranny from Conus to our deck off Mogadishu. A 46 couldn't do it, but the 47s are more powerful. I cross-decked often on 46s and they are scary. The crew joked that it was time to worry when the hydraulics stopped leaking inside (rags tied around fittings). The bean counters only care about beans.
