You know its funny how we now care about the cost of presidential vacations.
I don't recall us caring about the costs for any presidential vacation until Bush the younger got into office.
Sadly we live in a world where its expensive to take a vacation. Even more so when staff, security, and the transportation have to go as well. I don't begrudge the president's numerous vacation days as its a tough job and a break is definitely needed every so often. What I am concerned about is when they take AF1 and AF2 because the spouse goes elsewhere or one leaves early to go back to DC. That is needless dollars spent.

Remember one of the many lines of bovine excrement from the current president. Here he is talking about the commitment to the job and the fact you must give up many things, vacations included. 8 years and $85 million later we know that was a complete farce of an interview.

I am not denying him his time off. He might have overdone it a bit relative to the rhetoric he spewed previously.

Not just because if President Obama, but I hope something is done about personal expenditures in the future. Presidents should be billed, at a minimum, for the average cost of a comparable family vacation and donate it to Veteran Charities as a gesture of good will. However, any travel to campaign for any of their political party nominees should be 100% out of their pocket. It's not fair for tax payers to foot the bill of also millions of dollars to further either side's agenda.
