This story is not an indictment of the rank and file membership. Most Members are hard working folks that care a great deal about their responsibilities on the job. There are only a few that milk it as in this case. Somebody(ies) want this man to keep his mouth shut about something and this is hush money. What needs looking in to is the folks at DOE that sanctioned this action, and a deeper dive into Abdul's actions while He was an active educator.

No argument here re: rank and file. My experience is that 90% of a locals resources go to 10% of deadwood the rank and file would like to shed themselves of.
