Yes we are suppose to just blindly vote without information concerning a candidate. I am SO GLAD my parents raised me as an independent voter. It taught me to look at substance, history of government service and platform not just party.
Unfortunately the Democrats have moved so far left the only place for me is with the Republicans. There is no place for independents today because the gulf between parties is so wide.

Of course they will complain, just like the Democrats have complained of not knowing about Trump's tax returns, or his business foreign dealings, or his health, and so on.

PO3 Patricia Miner - Your opinion is noted, and I disagree. Those issues are not "apples to oranges"; they are all different types of apples. All of those issues are very material to MY vote, and to millions of other Americans, so those all certainly matter. Plus, the GOP has already engaged in a frightening power grab for years, first by throttling down Obama's appointments to the bench, and then by racing to cram through as many Trump appointments as possible. The GOP has actively tried to shape the courts with partisan appointments.

LTC Kevin B. Now come on you know as well as I do Obama never tried to fill those court appoints. They meant nothing to him. Some had been empty since Bush was in office, possibly before that.
The Democrats controlled the Senate for Obama's entire first term. So how exactly did the Republicans throttle down his appointments?
You have just belched out a lot of opinions without actual fact. There are the facts to shoot down your opinions.
If you want to discuss dirty tricks by a party here are a few names Bork, Thomas and Kavanaugh. How about trying to impeach a lawfully elected President without fact. That was based on made up bull by democrats and Schiff's remarkable mind reading. After all was said and done all you had was a whistleblower who was a whistleblower and a bunch of witnesses who ultimately said Trump had done nothing wrong.
What about Pelosi and her 25th amendment farce? What about blaming Trump for a virus the world has never seen before? Or mismanagement of it when Pelosi was walking around Chinatown saying what a racists he is after he stop incoming flights and Biden called him a xenophobe for doing it? What about Obama using ip the stock pile of medical equipment on swine flu and never replacing it?
I will never support the democrats again until they move back to the center and regain some common sense.
You see I'm an educated woman who entered the military as enlisted because I wanted a real job. I know my facts. I read the news because I don't have TV I read. I think you thought you could steam roll over me because I am a woman, was enlisted and you are so proud of your PhD. I also have my J.D. even though you'll probably look down on the fact I used it in the insurance industry when I was discharged.

Why do you think Harry Reid invoked the nuclear option, changing senate Confirmation rules?
And by his final two years in office, getting judges confirmed was next to impossible.

Senate obstructionism handed a raft of judicial vacancies to Trump—what has he done with them?
Trump has described himself as taking the initiative to fill judicial posts, but obstructionism in the Senate during the Obama era created a much larger number of vacancies than presidents typically inherit.

I suppose you're completely unfamiliar with the Republican overuse of the filibuster to block nominations. When Obama was President, the GOP didn't need control to block nominations; they only needed enough votes to sustain a filibuster. They did that to record levels. Plus, Bork got what he deserved after his involvement in the Watergate crimes, as well as a completely lackluster nomination hearing. He even had 6 Republicans vote against him. So, his nomination failed completely on its own merit on a bipartisan basis. I recommend you go back and review that history. Thomas and Kavanaugh made it onto the court, so that talking point is moot.

They had the evidence; the GOP just didn't want to convict him because they were worried about the political impact on them. And, he even had a Republican vote to convict him. The evidence was there, but the political backbone was not there.
