Patrons who behave themselves on premise, should be served. People who don't behave themselves should be asked to leave.

Out of concern for her employees...!?!?! really...!?!?! What did they think Mrs Huckabee Sanders was going to do to them, or say to them. Or is her mere presence a valid source of harm? I'll have to remember that.

The owner ejected a woman who had done nothing wrong on premise. (and in my opinion off premise) because the employees don't like her politics. I guess we'll have to bring resume and open our social media sites to scrutiny prior to getting a milk shake at the McDonald's drive through now.

I have decided that employees of the Red Hen Restaurant of Lexington are not welcome on my farm, nor will I sell my product to them or anyone who might let them eat food produced on my farm. No... wait I'm a capitalist pig, they are still welcome.

The owner did what she thought was right, LTC David Brown. She was within her rights to do exactly as she did. Personally, I think she lost sight of her “mission”. Is her mission to make money by serving customers or to make a political statement by refusing service to civil paying customers? She made her decision. There will be consequences. Apparently, they’re being felt already.
I’m reminded of an allegedly true story (parable really) we were told in a senior marketing course in college. In the 1800s as galvanized iron/steel buckets became available, a very famous and successful wooden bucket company lost ever increasing amounts of business and ultimately went bankrupt. They thought they were in the business of making wooden buckets, but they were actually in the business of making water (liquid) carriers. They lost sight of their mission.

We are free to do what we want, but not free from the consequences. In business you don’t want to make 1/2 your customers mad. Ask the NFL.
